All cakes are made to order. Here’s how the process works. When a client contacts me through email or phone to ask for a cake, I need the following information:
For how many people is the cake?
When do you need the cake?
Do you need the cake to be delivered?
What flavors (cake and filling) would you like?
Does the cake need to be in a particular theme (e.g. flowers, animals, castle, superhero) and/or is it for a specific event (e.g. birthday, anniversary, wedding, baby shower)?
What color(s) do you want the cake to be?
Do I need to recon with any allergies?
If you’re not sure about the theme or flavor of the cake, give me a call and I’ll advise you on what I think might suit your group.
Wedding cakes: when it comes to weddings, I like to make sure that my cake really suits the couple. Therefore I like to sit down or take a call with the couple to discuss some ideas. After this, I’ll sketch out one or two ideas and run these by the couple. Based on the feedback, I’ll propose a final design.
Once we’ve settled on the details of the cake, I’ll send you and email to confirm the order. Note: the order is not final until you receive my confirmation email. If you haven’t received a confirmation email within 4 days of us agreeing over the phone, please contact me.
After this, work on the cake starts. Depending on the cake, work on it can start a month beforehand, or a week. Once it’s finished, the cake can be picked up or delivered (as agreed upon beforehand). For smaller cakes (<20 people), payment can be done in cash upon delivery or beforehand by bank transfer. For larger cakes, please transfer the full amount before delivery/pick up.
